The cause of death for The Ultimate Warrior appears to be a catastrophic medical condition, according to Scottsdale police spokesman Sergeant Mark Clark. His statement is as follows - "On April 8 at 5:50 pm 54-year-old "Warrior" James B Hellwig collapsed while walking with his wife to their car at the Gainy Suites Hotel in Scottsdale, Ariz. Scottsdale Fire transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead soon after arrival. At this point in the investigation, it appears as though a catastrophic medical condition caused his death." It would be wrong to speculate any further stage at this stage. It isn't unheard of for people to die in their fifties, sudden turns of health can take any one of us. TMZ however has published what they report as further details from law enforcement sources who talked with witnesses. Warrior fell down "clutching his chest", he never recovered, and all signs pointed to a massive heart attack. There was no evidence to suggest drugs or alcohol played a role in his death. An investigation is underway, with an autopsy and toxicology tests planned to confirm cause of death. That's what TMZ is reporting anyway. Warrior's death has been met with a great deal of mainstream publicity. He was the fifth top trending news story on British based Sky News and has cropped up as a major news story in nearly every other media including the BBC. The entire wrestling community has responded with sincere condolences to Warrior's family as this story continues to develop.
