This past week, Alexander Wolfe of the disbanded SmackDown stable Sanity seemed to indicate he was the latest WWE performer with an exit strategy, after making an elaborate social media post in which he said farewell to the company.

Though Wolfe made his farewells, his status remained unclear as sources indicated he was still under contract and had not requested his release, but a move back to NXT.

Those reports seem to be correct. In revealing details about NXT UK tapings this past week in Glasgow, WrestleTalk learned that Wolfe was on hand for the filming - though further details about his role were not known.

There's zero shame in a return to the ostensible 'developmental' brand for Wolfe, especially considering he was practically anonymous on Tuesday nights. He can now looks forward to potential programmes with the likes of Pete Dunne or recently crowned UK Champion WALTER, rather than being completely superfluous on SmackDown.
