Update On Finn Balor's Ankle Injury And WWE Status

A new video has also surfaced of the injury occurring on Friday night.

In case you haven't been on the internet this weekend, the big news is that NXT Champion Finn Balor injured his ankle on Friday night during a WWE NXT house show in Nashville, TN. Luckily for Balor and WWE (who have experienced a plethora of major injuries in recent months), the injury does not appear to be serious. According to various reports making the rounds, Balor sustained a sprained ankle when he used his Coup De Grace finisher on Samoa Joe. Balor left the arena on crutches, with an ice wrap on his leg, and needed help getting into a car after the show. We're told that Balor will be re-evaluated on Monday when he returns to the WWE Performance Center in Florida. Luckily, a sprained ankle is an injury that typically keeps people of out of action for only a few weeks, though there are various grades of ankle sprains. Unless WWE finds something else wrong with Balor during their medical re-evaluation, he should be fine to go when NXT has their big TakeOver event in Dallas during WrestleMania weekend. Taping matches for NXT television during his recovery period also will not be a problem, as NXT has already filmed all of their WWE Network episodes for airing through early March. A new video has surfaced online which shows the Coup De Grace where Finn injured himself on Friday night. You can check it out below: https://twitter.com/ChadwickJay/status/696355286626496512 Balor did not wrestle at the NXT live event in Louisville on Saturday night, though he did participate in the event. After the third match of the evening, which featured NXT Womens Champion Bayley versus Alexa Bliss, Bayley called out Finn. Finn came out to the ring, hugged Bayley in the ring, and they had a moment together doing his entrance mannerisms together (complete with Balor falling over on his crutches). WWE has posted a video of the Bayley/Balor segment, which can be viewed at this link.
