As announced earlier this week, The Undertaker will make his first WWE appearance since WrestleMania 33 on January 22nd, 2018, joining Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, and a host of other legends in celebrating Raw's 25th anniversary.

There's no word on what 'The Deadman's' role will be that night, but the appearance should shed light on what his future holds. 'Taker was thought to have retired after losing to Roman Reigns at 'Mania, but has been dogged by rumours of an in-ring return ever since, and this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that Raw's anniversary show will give a clearer indication.

As per Dave Meltzer, if WWE shoot an angle with Undertaker on January 22nd, they could have him wrestle at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. Finding a suitable opponent could be problematic, though. Reigns would be the logical choice, but he has been pencilled in to face Universal Champion Brock Lesnar all year, and it's unlikely that WWE will changes those plans.

Whatever happens, here's hoping the show at least provides closure on the issue, as the only time WWE have officially acknowledged 'Taker's retirement came through a single line of commentary on this year's post-'Mania Raw.
