Update On When John Cena Told WWE He Wanted Time Off

Cena and WWE are temporarily parting ways after Hell In A Cell.

John Cena asked for his WWE time off several months ago, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports. He had been advertised for November events up until recently, but that was an error on WWE's part for failing to update listings. They knew he was going to be leaving, and it isn't like he suddenly made a demand for time off. The fact it was a long term plan for him to take time out, it proves that it isn't related to an injury. He's scheduled to be away from WWE as soon as Hell In A Cell goes off the air, and he isn't advertised to return until the December 26th date in Madison Square Garden. The official explanation to the Wrestling Observer was that he's taking time out due to personal reasons. He'll be missing several important dates, including Survivor Series and TLC specials. He'll also be missing several Raw tapings, in a time of bad ratings. To counter his loss, WWE could bring in another big star. They are involved in discussions with The Rock about a return before the end of 2015, and The Undertaker is also thought to be open to working more dates this year. They could even try to get Brock Lesnar to appear a few more times.
