What TNT Really Think About AEW Dynamite's Ratings So Far

Dynamite's viewership has declined each week, but is the network satisfied?

Though AEW Dynamite has defeated WWE NXT in every week of the Wednesday night ratings battle so far, the show's viewership has declined from an average of 1.409 million in week one to just 759,000 for the 30 October episode.

In fairness, Dynamite and NXT's most recent instalments were going to head-to-head with key World Series games and a rebound should be expected this week, though it's disappointing that neither have been able to hold or build on their viewership thus far.

Fortunately, it seems like AEW's television network aren't concerned about the slide at all. PWInsider are reporting that TNT only expected Dynamite to draw approximately 500,000 viewers every week, and are "very happy" with how the show has performed so far, despite the drops.

It'll be interesting to see how this week's Wednesday Night War goes. NXT's invasion of SmackDown should lead to a spike in interest, making it reasonable to expect WWE's black and gold brand to finally score a ratings win over AEW, particularly if main roster stars show up in Full Sail University. Nonetheless, AEW's Full Gear go-home show will almost certainly be as stacked as possible to compensate.
