The Monday Night Wars, which saw WWE and WCW go head-to-head for a number of years in a battle for ratings supremacy, was one of the most exciting periods in wrestling history. It was a time when truly anything could, and usually did, happen, with both companies going all-out to entertain the fans (and one-up one another).
Incidences such as Lex Luger turning up on Nitro the very same night he appeared on Raw, Madusa dumping the WWE Women's Championship into the trash and the DX 'invasion' have come to symbolise those feverish times. The War, which lasted from 1995 - 2001, is a much talked about, and much missed, time.
