Wrestling's 13 Greatest African-American Stars

1. Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks' list of firsts read like the degree results page in The Harvard Crimson. She was the first woman to headline a major WWE event, alongside Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Respect. She went one better in being one of two women to headline an actual WWE pay-per-view for the first time - which also happened to be the first women's Hell in a Cell contest. She competed in the first ever women's Iron Man match in the company, set a longevity record in the first women's Royal Rumble, and featured in the first women's Elimination Chamber.

First. Still remember what that means?

Sasha Banks didn't restore the dignity of women's wrestling single-handedly - but those other hands were pretty much always holding hers.

The first woman to headline WrestleMania? Don't bet against it.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
