WWE: 10 Reasons Why Michael Cole Needs To Be Removed As The 'Voice'
Michael Cole. The hatred I possess for this man knows no bounds and continues to grow with every week he is on air. May the powers that be prevent me from taking control of a nuclear arsenal in the near future. Because at that rate, I should be just about ready to nuke the entire planet and commit mass genocide of the human race just to get his nasal, whiny little voice off the airwaves for good. As a child, teen and a man in his 20s I have grown up with the ever changing face of the WWE broadcast team and enjoyed wonderful, entertaining and riveting banter from the likes of Jesse "the Body" Ventura, Lord Alfred Hayes (a personal favourite), Bobby "the Brain" Heenan, Gorilla Monsoon, the "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, Jim Ross, Jerry "the King" Lawler, Paul Heyman, Joey Styles and even the man himself, Vince McMahon. Then in 1997, a dark cloud descended over the WWE which to this day still rains down quite heavily on their lavish sports entertainment parade. And this evil came under the guise of "journalist" Michael Cole. And since then it has been nothing but downhill for the once great heralded position of commentary. There is no reason for this man to be still employed outside of him actually having something on Vince McMahon (a sex tape with Hogan maybe) to either blackmail and/or barter with. And his involvement can actually be contributed to the decline of quality play-by-play over the last decade as the wrestling industry seemingly has decided that with his involvement, quality commentary simply is not needed anymore, which is the furthest thing from the truth. Good play-by-play can literally mean the difference between a great match and a classic match. Good play by play can turn the worst matches into passable viewing. But Michael Cole's attempt at commentary can actually turn a classic match into a generic one. For all the hate and ridicule Mike Adamle (a former employee of the WWE who was fired for incompetence) receives from his brief position within the McMahon conglomerate I do not see how Michael Cole is not as bad as he was. In fact, I think he is much worse, for he has had 20 years at the job and still screws up just as much as Adamle did on a constantly re-occurring basis. And so here I have 10 of the worst examples of his incompetence which range from his on air personality to his actual commentary skills. All of which realistically should have gotten him fired years before. Maybe someone in the offices of the WWE will read this and pass this on, for I actually predict a .5 RATINGS JUMP the following week. Maybe juice up that light in Vince's head and get it going again as it has obviously been out of power now for some time.
