WWE: 10 Worst Intercontinental Title Matches To Watch On The WWE Network

Fcicf Since won by WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson in 1979, the WWF/E Intercontinental Championship has been held by the "workhorses" of the WWE. Talented workers and storytellers like Tito Santana, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Mr. Perfect, and Shelton Benjamin- all great performers, but not the person the office would bank on carrying the company at house shows and PPVs- carried the IC-title, entrusted in having great matches at- or near-the-top of the card with other mid-card superstars. And with the WWE Network now comes the ability to access the all-time classics at anytime, anywhere, for a very affordable price. But after watching The Dragon and Macho Man at WrestleMania III, the Michaels/Ramon Ladder Match from WrestleMania X, Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog from Summerslam in England... after watching the best of the best, whose morbid curiosity hasn't wanted to take a peek at the worst of the worst? Here are the Top 10 Worst Intercontinental Championship Matches you can find on the WWE Network, a list chock full of count outs, disqualifications, and The Honky Tonk Man. Honorable Mention: Ultimate Warrior © vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude: Super Posedown, Royal Rumble 1989The Result: I guess the Ultimate Warrior wins by Popular Audience Vote and/or Disqualification? Highlight: Warrior no-selling baby oil to the eyes, and subsequently getting beaten down by Rude and his weight-lifting bar. Lowlight: It was a 15-minute bodybuilding contest on a wrestling Pay-Per-View. Review: No, this is not technically a match. No, this was not technically for the Intercontinental Championship. (That's why it's an "Honorable Mention.") But yes, the Super Posedown at the 1989 Royal Rumble was a 15-minute waste of time. If it can be scientifically proven that the "cheers" Vince McMahon heard from the kids in the audience (and handful of ladies shown on camera) inspired him to create the World Bodybuilding Federation, this may go down as the worst WWF/E Pay-Per-View segment of all time. How could it have been better: Apart from an actual wrestling match- say, Warrior defending against one of the Brainbusters, with Rude causing a D.Q.- Heenan could have blinded Warrior with the baby oil 30-seconds into the contest. If they needed to fill 15-minutes, I'd be OK with a 14-and-a-half minute beatdown on Warrior by Rude.
