WWE 13 - Attitude Era Returns & First Official Screenshots

Gamers will now be able to re-create history whilst battling through a single player campaign including eight storylines from the classic ‘Monday Night Wars’ era.

Following the WWE 13 video game cover reveal this past week on Raw, speculation was rampant on just what the Attitude logo in the top right hand corner of the cover meant.

Unfortunately for the many hardcore fans that were hoping the WWE would leave its PG era behind, this is not the case. The attitude logo will be a new mode replacing the axed Road to Wrestlemania feature, which was dropped after THQ announced a €˜new mode€™ will replace the outdated storyline.

This €˜new mode€™, according to THQ is a symbol that the €˜The Attitude era is back.€™ Gamers will now be able to re-create history whilst battling through a single player campaign where users with their favourite superstars will be able to play eight storylines during the classic €˜Monday Night Wars€™ era. Superstars from this era confirmed so far include €˜The Undertaker€™, €˜Stone Cold Steve Austin€™, 'Mankind' and 'Attitude Era Undertaker' and many more attitude era superstars. THQ have confirmed that WWE 13 will have the "biggest roster" ever in a WWE game with 77 playable characters - 38 Superstars, 7 Divas and 32 Attitude Era Legends. From the trailer, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Sheamus, Mark Henry and Big Show have also been confirmed and we can expect the likes of Shawn Michaels (as DX were mentioned), The Rock and Vince McMahon from the attitude era to be included. Not only that but expect the likes of Road Dogg (who works for the WWE as producer) and possibly even the likes of Billy Gunn and X-Pac to be included. After watching the trailer for WWE 13 campaign €˜a new revolution€™, many fans thought that the inclusion of footage from the €˜Monday Night Wars€™ meant the WWE itself would be returning to the attitude era. This however isn€™t the case, hardcore fans of WWE will at least for the meantime only return to their childhood memories through their game consoles.
