WWE: 20 Awful Gimmicks That Were Quickly Dropped

Just be thankful these atrocities of wrestling only lasted a short while...

In the history of pro wrestling, there have been hundreds of characters that fans will remember forever. There are some great ones like The Undertaker, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, Mankind and many others that we remember as the best of all time. What about the bad ones? Oh there are so many awful ones that we will never forget. The hard thing about coming up with just 20 awful gimmicks is that there are so many that immediately come to mind that can't make it just because there are others that were worse. In most cases, a lot of time they don't work because the performers are awful. At other times, the gimmick is so stupid that even the best performers even couldn't make it work. I'm not going to include the Ringmaster, but even somebody as talented as Steve Austin had a tough time getting that character over too. There won't be people on the list that lasted years. They had to have short runs in WWE to qualify. That's really all the criteria there is to it. That, plus the idea that somebody thought the character was a good idea is a reason to include it. A character like Muhammad Hassan wasn't an awful gimmick. It just didn't last long. The Berzerker was an awful gimmick, but he lasted in WWE for nearly two years. Even the Repo Man lasted over a year! The ones we're looking at here didn't last too long. A few notes before it begins. The Gobbledy Gooker won't be included because he was not a wrestler. Bad gimmicks like men dressed as women (Hervina, Santina) are not going to be included either. Katie Vick? Not included. Just a really terrible storyline. There are others like that, but as I said at some point there has to be limits to this. This is a WWE only list, so with apologies to the legendary Shockmaster in WCW, let's get to it.
