WWE 2K19: Lana P**sed By Character Model, Asks: "Who Is This?"

The lack of resemblance is uncanny.

Lana was revealed this weekend as part of 2K Games' ongoing 'Rating Reveal' campaign to promote the latest in their series of WWE titles - and the 'Ravishing Russian' was not best pleased.

It isn't the frankly preposterous overall rating of 70 which has the Rusev Day proponent in a tizzy - anything above a 50 has to be considered generous - but rather her less than accurate portrayal. After seeing her new character model, an affronted Lana took to Instagram to vent:

"Who is this? I never had short hair and never wore this gear so I am confused."

It's a pretty damning indictment on 2K's hard-working artists when the muse herself lambasts their recreation, but she does have a point, given the model looks like a glammed-up Tommy Rich.

Lana's bang wrong about the outfit though; she has worn it - albeit not in the ring. Rusev's belle donned the garb last year as part of a WWE photo-shoot lampooning Tonya Harding biopic, I, Tonya. Given the amount of ensembles the company forces their female performers into for a never-ending parade of glamour shots, you can't blame Lana for forgetting - but perhaps she should have thought twice before expressing her outrage.

After this very public dressing down, you'd imagine it's a near certainty 2K's chastised character artists will give the 'Russian' a makeover. Expect Tommy Rich as surprise DLC at a later date.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
