WWE: 5 Reasons Why William Regal Should Be Champion

william regal Like a lot of people reading this, I first saw William Regal sometime around the year 2000, when he showed up on WWE (then known as WWF) programming as an upper class English snob. His appearance was absolutely hilarious and, being Brits ourselves, my family and I thoroughly adored his particular brand of underhanded (yet decidedly upper crust) villainy. Whether he was complaining about being €˜besmirched!€™, screwing his face up like a bulldog chewing a wasp after drinking a 'cup of p€™ or referring to The Rock as €œa toe-rag€, the guy was always a hoot. But, there was more to like, as we soon found out: this bloke could really wrestle. In an era where WWE€™s mid-card featured the gigantic talents of Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, Edge and many more, Regal stood out as one of the best purely technical wrestlers on the roster. He may have played a ponce on TV, but this guy could hurt you. He could hurt you bad. Regal is an excellent wrestler as well as a consummate showman and I got to thinking that he may be the answer to some of WWE€™s current prayers. Here, then, are 5 reasons why Mr. Regal would make a great WWE champion...

I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction. I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long! If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it). I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work. Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that! Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?) Latcho Drom, - CQ
