The beginning of the Road to WrestleMania starts from the Royal Rumble. One of the big four pay-per-view events, Royal Rumble never fails to disappoint. Filled with excitement and suspense, Royal Rumble features a 30-man mega over the top rope Battle Royal, where the winner will main event WrestleMania in a championship match against the champion of his choosing. In a high pressure situation, it’s all about who can last the longest and can eliminate the most men and end up being the last man or woman standing in the ring.
The next Royal Rumble, however, seems to be a confusing one. There’s no clear winner and there are no clear favorites, yet, as a wrestling analyst, it’s my job to lay down my predictions in front of you, and while this might be a bit over-the-top, it could happen easily, and we could see any of these five men main eventing WrestleMania.
It’s extremely tough, but the winner can do it all. Therefore, the following are the five superstars who deserve to be in the spotlight, and who deserve to be champions.
Ryback Rules! One of the most destructive superstars in the WWE, Ryback has been on the top of the food chain for a long time now. Recently turning heel, Ryback has created a new character for himself and has never backed down ever since, after he destroyed John Cena in a Last Man Standing match. Ryback is known to be a fierce competitor who has no boundaries, and he could be the winner of the next Royal Rumble.
The 2013 Royal Rumble was Ryback’s night, but he was oh-so close to winning the event, but John Cena eliminated him and won the match. Now, the 2014 RR could be Ryback’s moment to shine, as he eliminates 29 other superstars and wins an opportunity to face a champion at the grandest stage of them all. Many did not expect the former NXT rookie to become a star in the WWE, but now he’s in the main event of multiple RAW and Smackdown events, and is also one of the marquee WWE superstars.
A win for Ryback at the Royal Rumble could only mean good things for the Big Hungry. With Ryback as the winner of the 2014 RR, we could see a Ryback vs Sheamus feud for a championship which would be good for business.
