WWE Announces Tough Enough Return On USA Network

The WWE reality show is coming back soon.

It was announced on Thursday on WWE.com that the WWE reality series Tough Enough is coming back. Tough Enough was rumored to return last year on WWE Network, but those plans didn't materialise, likely because WWE was in money saving mode. However, now that WWE has a new TV deal with NBC Universal it's USA Network that is planning on airing the show. Here's the official announcement from USA Network President: "I am pleased to announce that USA is bringing back 'Tough Enough,' the action-packed competition reality show from the ratings juggernaut, WWE. The show will have a completely new format, with live elements that will truly make this event television. After signing another multi-year deal for Raw and SmackDown, this is the perfect time to bring back the series and capitalize on the enormous audience appeal of sports-entertainment." A date for the new show hasn't been announced yet, but we imagine there will be news about it very soon. It will also be interesting to see if they use wrestlers that aren't already under WWE deals or if they decide to use developmental performers that haven't debuted on NXT TV yet. The Tough Enough series originally aired three seasons from 2001 to 2003 on MTV. The first season is actually available on WWE Network now. The most recent season was in 2010 with Steve Austin hosting along with Booker T, Trish Stratus and Bill DeMott. There are still a lot of questions about the format of the show. Since it was mentioned that it's a completely new format perhaps they won't need coaches like they did before. Nobody really knows at this point. Austin would be the perfect host of the show again just because he was very compelling in terms of being a mentor for the trainees. He is one of the most successful wrestlers ever, so when he says something people are going to listen. He has more credibility than anybody they could get for the show. Current WWE diva Cameron is the only trainee from the 2010 Tough Enough that works for WWE. Nobody is going to forget Austin's reaction to her when she mentioned her favorite match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgCVHcAl99U There should be more news about Tough Enough in the coming weeks and months ahead. We will update you when it becomes available.
