WWE: Big Show Taking Time Off To Film Movie

Currently filming WWE Studios movie Vendetta.

The Big Show is currently on a break from WWE programming to film a new WWE Films project called Vendetta according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The filming began last week with Jen and Sylvia Soska directing it. They also directed See No Evil 2 starring Kane that will be out later this year. The story for Vendetta revolves around a detective (played by Big Show) who deliberately commits a crime in order to wind up in prison and enact revenge on the man who murdered his wife. Show previously starred in the WWE film Knucklehead and also had minor roles in Jingle All The Way, The Waterboy and MacGruber. While no return date has been given, WWE's film projects usually take about six weeks to film. Sometimes it's more than that, but that's typical of how long the films take. Big Show Jingle Show's last appearance on WWE TV was when he wrestled Randy Orton on the June 6 edition of Smackdown. The match ended in a disqualification after the interference of Triple H and Seth Rollins as they came to the aid of Orton just when it looked like Show was going to finish him off. Rollins gave Show a Curb Stomp onto a steel chair to end the show that night. He's at a point in his career where he's only a role player. His main event run last year at Survivor Series against Randy Orton was a failure, so it's unlikely that WWE will ever put him in that kind of spot again now that he's in his early 40s. However, he has been a reliable performer for 15 years. We know how much Vince McMahon loves his favorites and he's certainly one of them. There's always a risk for wrestlers when they film a movie because once you're gone you are forgotten. Look at The Miz. He was barely on television prior to WrestleMania 30, had a minor role in the battle royal at that show and hasn't been back on TV since. Filming wrapped for The Marine 4 about a month ago. His co-star Summer Rae is back, yet Miz is nowhere to be seen on WWE TV. He has been on house shows cutting promos about being a movie star as a way to get heel heat. If you're a Big Show fan, at least you can be happy knowing WWE will be unable to book him like a crying fool for the next month or so. That's a positive. It would make sense if his return led to a feud with Rollins since he's the one that took him out, so perhaps that's something that can be built up for SummerSlam or soon after that. Then again this is WWE, so there's a chance that it could be completely forgotten too.
