Brock Lesnar Returns To Lay Out John Cena on WWE Raw

Brock Lesnar electrified the Miami crowd when he returned to slam John Cena to the mat with an F-5

Last night on Raw, former WWE and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar electrified the Miami crowd when he returned to slam John Cena to the mat with an F-5. Cena, who was busy cutting a promo that closed the door on a year long feud with The Rock, witnessed another door slam right into his face with the appearance of an familiar old foe who wasted little time in sending a message to the current WWE poster boy with his finishing move. It was a perfectly executed moment that typified the no-nonsense, ruthlessly aggressive nature of Lesnar's wwe persona and one which single-handedly wiped away Lesnar's shameful exit from the company in 2004 when his wrestlemania bout with Goldberg was clouded with mocking jeers from an audience well aware that both competitors were leaving. With The Rock's departure for the bright lights of Hollywood and Undertaker's annual recovery leave, WWE perhaps realised that they needed something big to fill the void these two megastars will doubtlessly leave behind and the appearance of Lesnar served to act as an immediate answer to the question of how the company will hope to remain hot in the coming months. Not only should Lesnar's return generate a nostalgic response from current wrestling fans who watched the product that once temporarily hosted Lesnar at its biggest star but his presence between Vince McMahon's ropes is also guaranteed to create buzz amongst the UFC faithful who saw Lesnar defeat Randy Couture to become their new heavyweight champion in November 2008. So where do they go from here? Well one would hope that a slow, steady and creative approach is the route taken henceforth. Lesnar's return has already received widespread media coverage yet the last time the wwe generated this kind of hype with Punk's incredible anti-establishment speech on the May 27th, 2011 edition of Raw they rushed the storyline of Punk leaving the company as champion to such an extent that within a couple of months the whole affair had just become a common soap opera feud with far too many cooks being allowed to spoil the broth. In my opinion, they should just have fun with this new feud for a while in the aim of building up more media coverage before trying to craft any intricate storylines. Next week I would have John Cena ramble on again before asking Lesnar to explain himself. Lesnar could then come out, pretend to talk on the microphone before wiping Cena out with another F-5 and perhaps then wearing Cena's cap to mock his new foe even further on his way back up the ramp. A simple enough development yet one which would serve the purpose of making him more loved by the Cena haters and appear more despicable and intimidating to the Cena fans. Now over to you. What did you make of Brock Lesnar's dramatic return last night on Raw? Are you pleased that he is back and how would you continue his interactions with John Cena in the weeks that follow? My full review of one of the hottest Raws in recent memory will be posted tomorrow.

"Growing up, Laurent was such an ardent fan of wrestling superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin that he actually attempted to send the Texas Rattlesnake a letter demanding that he defeat arch-nemesis The Rock at Wrestlemania 15. Oh hell yeah, it was all still very real to him back then dammit. As an aspiring writer of multiple genres and platforms, he has also recently co-authored a non-fiction movie e-book entitled 'Egos, Cliches, Flops and Lost Films: Examining the powerful madness of the movies' which is written in a similarly light hearted and informative style to his wrestling articles and which can be browsed and purchased by following the link below - http://www.amazon.com/Egos-Cliches-Flops-Films-ebook/dp/B0088YNTBC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339093928&sr=8-1"
