WWE have officially confirmed the next show in their partnership with the Saudi Arabia General Sports Authority, announcing an event for Jeddah's King Abdullah Sports City Stadium scheduled for Friday 7 June.

Amidst the names listed for the as-yet unnamed show is none other than Goldberg. That's right: Goldberg, who informally retired following his WrestleMania 33 defeat at the hands of Brock Lesnar over two years ago.

As expected, both Lesnar himself and The Undertaker have been listed for the show, as well as Universal Champion Seth Rollins, WWE champ Kofi Kingston, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, and AJ Styles.

Champ Champ Becky Lynch has not been announced, nor indeed any women, suggesting that once more WWE will promote a pay-per-view in the Kingdom forcibly devoid of gender parity.

Goldberg, who was inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame last year, is a practicing Jew, though will not be permitted to publicly express his faith in Saudi Arabia. The US State Department has stated that religious freedom in the country "does not exist".

Perhaps Goldberg's name will be shortened to simply 'Bill'.

The King Abdullah Stadium hosted last April's Greatest Royal Rumble, the first show in the company's partnership with the GSA. November's Crown Jewel was blighted with controversy following the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, purportedly by Saudi officials.

WWE faced heavy pressure to pull out of the deal in the wake of the scandal, but forged ahead anyway, presenting a show headlined by a returning Shawn Michaels teaming with Triple H to take on Kane and The Undertaker.

It's unlikely the next visit to the desert will pass off without significant censure.
