Brock Lesnar did not perform a 'blade job' at WrestleMania 31. WWE issued a statement on Tuesday saying that they do not permit intentional bleeding, although unintentional blood loss does sometimes occur. WWE's denial of Lesnar's speculated blade job is following a video that circulated on Tuesday which appeared to show the WWE referee handing Roman Reigns something. Some fans speculated that this was the blade used to cut Lesnar to allow him to get blood for dramatic effect. However, WWE are adamant that their policy remains not to allow blading. "WWE programming is TV-PG and we don't permit intentional bleeding. The communication or contact between our performers and referees is part of our safety protocol. That said, unintentional blood sometimes occurs, and we do our best to minimize." Lesnar suffered cuts to his cheek and forehead during his intense WrestleMania main event against Roman Reigns. Although the bleeding wasn't intentional, it did significantly add to the drama of the match. Traditionally, wrestlers bleeding was a normal way to create drama. Blade jobs were previously used as a way to get blood after major spots. But with WWE now firmly established as a family friendly product, blade jobs are a thing of the past. It is a decision largely for the better, as health concerns make bleeding an unnecessary risk.
