WWE Extreme Rules Matches Latest - John Cena vs Bray Wyatt Steel Cage Match Added

The first official match has been announced for the Extreme Rules Special Event (Pay Per View) on May 4th in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Bray Wyatt was in the ring talking trash about John Cena when Cena made his presence known after he was called out. Cena tried some comedy that didn't really work, but then he got down to business. Cena challenged Wyatt to a match at Extreme Rules. It wasn't just any match, though. It was a Steel Cage Match. Wyatt accepted. It will be interesting to see how they book the match. Cena won clean at WrestleMania, so he really doesn't need another win unless they want to end the feud there. If they want to continue the feud then Wyatt should get the win to make him look like he's on Cena's level. They could have a third and final match at Payback on June 1. For now, Wyatt should be considered the favorite in the Steel Cage match although it is hard to envision Cena losing clean. In a Steel Cage setting, they could come up with a more creative finish, particularly one that involves Luke Harper and Eric Rowan. Based on events from Raw, it would also seem like they are going to go with Kane as Daniel Bryan's first WWE World Heavyweight Championship opponent. Kane did a segment with Stephanie where she motivated him to revert to the old Kane with the mask on. Kane as Bryan's opponent is an easy way to give Bryan a win over a credible opponent. The third major match at Extreme Rules will likely see The Shield take on the trio of Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton aka Evolution. Based on the events of Raw, it seems like a strong possibility. The Evolution group stood tall at the end of Raw as they decimated the three members of The Shield in a way we haven't seen before. Triple H ended the show by telling Roman Reigns to "Believe in Evolution." A fourth match at Extreme Rules will be for the Intercontinental Title. Big E is set to defend against the winner of a #1 Contender tournament that began on Raw. The semifinals of the tournament will put Rob Van Dam vs. Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Bad News Barrett. Cesaro will likely win it although Barrett is a possibility too. With four top matches that are very appealing, Extreme Rules is shaping up to be an interesting show that will allow WWE to continue the positive momentum they have coming out of a strong WrestleMania event. We'll have more on Extreme Rules as more matches become official.
