WWE Fires VP Of Content Lisa Scott Lee

20 year high-ranking employee is fired after recent poor TV ratings.

WWE has fired their Executive Vice President of Content Lisa Fox Lee, who had been with the company since 1995. The news was reported by Major League Wrestling on Twitter, who have connections with WWE backstage sources. Lee was promoted to the role of Executive Vice President of Content and reported directly to Vince McMahon. It was her job to oversee the development and distribution of WWE programming across all of their platforms. In addition to that, she was in charge of overseeing WWE's creative team. In other words, she worked closely with Vince and with a 20 year tenure in the company was definitely one of their most important people behind the scenes. https://twitter.com/MLW/status/619343129162989569 Her past roles in the company involved television production, programming, business strategy and sponsorship sales. Clearly she had a lot of experience working in different departments of the company. WWE's ratings for Raw and Smackdown are both down this year while Tough Enough has been considered a failure by the USA Network after the first three weeks although they did have a slight gain in viewership for the most recent broadcast. Any time viewership numbers decrease like that, somebody's probably going to pay the price for it. While it's not right to blame one person for all of the problems in WWE, Lee worked closely with McMahon and if they felt like she wasn't helping things then it's smart for them to let her go. Maybe it will be for the best to put somebody different in that position.
