WWE Gives Finn Balor His Debut At NXT Tapings

The man formerly known as Prince Devitt makes his WWE debut.

WWE handed Fergal Devitt his NXT debut at the tapings from Full Sail University on Thursday night. The action that was filmed will be broadcast on November 6th. Devitt's debut came as part of an angle with Hideo Itami, the Japanese star who had promised he'd have a friend coming to help do battle against The Ascension. His friend was of course Devitt. Upon entering the NXT arena, there was a very loud pop, and 'Prince Devitt' temporarily flashed on the big screen, before giving way to his new WWE name being displayed - Finn Balor. Balor and Itami then ran the ring and laid out the Acsension. There were loud chants of Finn, which is a good sign that the new name will take off. All in all, this was a strong WWE debut for Balor. It was a nice touch that his entrance started with the 'Prince Devitt' reference on the screen, and it was also pretty cool to see him joining forces with Itami. Both men have a shared history of making a name for themselves in Japan; Itami is of course the man formerly known as KENTA. Both men are recent signings of the WWE, and the way they've been received thus far is encouraging. The Finn Balor name appeared to be over with those in attendance and it is what the 33 year old Irishman will be known as from now on. As one of the most revered stars of the independent and Japanese circuits in the past few years, this is one exceptional wrestler who really could achieve big things in the WWE. He's a true in-ring talent and will hopefully be on the main roster at some point in 2015.
