WWE Hall of Famer and hometown hero Trish Stratus made a surprise appearance at last night's Raw as the show emanated from her native Toronto.

An Elias segment in which the songster derided the Canadian city was interrupted by Stratus, who delivered a swift slap to his richly-deserving face.

The seven-time WWE Women's Champion later brought up her impending WWE Evolution match opposite Alexa Bliss in October. Bliss, hot off the heels of having her backside almost literally handed to her by Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam boasted that the "irrelevant" Stratus wouldn't be able to survive her onslaught in Uniondale. We'll see about that.

Stratus' former rival Mickie James also emerged to add to the tension. The pair contested a storied feud back in 2006, culminating in a memorable encounter at WrestleMania 22.

The last time the Torontonian was seen on WWE TV was at this January's inaugural women's Royal Rumble. A surprise entrant, Stratus squared off with James, before making it all the way to the last five only to be eliminated by Sasha Banks.

WWE Evolution takes place on 28 October at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Trish is just one of a number of legends slated for the show.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
