WWE Hell in a Cell 2012: 8 Reasons To Look on the Bright Side

WWE Hell in a Cell was a pay-per-view that was afforded six weeks of build-up time, and still the event appeared to be rushed. It appeared that the insertion of Ryback into the WWE Title picture, the lackluster feud between Sheamus and Big Show and lack of intensive feuding prior the PPV had led many to believe that this could be the worst of 2012. What happened? As per usual, the superstars and creative team pulled another great event out of the hat, to carry on one of the most entertaining years in wrestling history. The action was great, the storytelling masterful, and provided for a night that was memorable and engrossing. It may not have been the best event of the year, but it was certainly worth ordering. And now I get to present to you some of the best moments from 24 hours ago. Let's get to it!

1. RKO From Outta Nowhere!

The opening contest was definitely one to get the pulses racing as Randy Orton battled against Alberto Del Rio. Orton hasn't looked anywhere near as dominant as he did last year in terms of constant victories, but with regards to consistent match performance he continues to produce the goods. And detractors can say what they like about Del Rio, but he can put on a hell of a performance with virtually anybody in that ring. It was an excellent match, with plenty of back and forth action. Del Rio continued to focus his attention on Orton's arm, whilst Orton would launch into comebacks and hit all his signature moves, with Ricardo Rodriguez a threat on the outside. But the finish was the real standout moment of this match. Orton was able to force his way out of the cross-arm breaker, and when Del Rio attempted to hit his jumping enziguri in the corner, Orton caught him with the RKO in mid-air. Orton has done that move when an opponent has been in the air before, but his finisher is so sudden and can come out of nowhere, which provided a great prop from the fans.
