WWE Hell in a Cell 2012 results from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The YouTube pre-show kicks off with Michael Cole and John Cena in the ring talking about the AJ Lee controversy and Vickie Guerrero promising to bring evidence to RAW. In a boring and pointless segment, Cena answers the fans social media questions including Cena passing the torch to Ryback, his advice to Ryback for the match, if Cena thinks he can beat Ryback (he puts his name in the hat to be the first challenger if he wins) and says he wants another shot at The Rock. Final tout message comes from Dolph Ziggler who wants to know the truth about what is going on. Cena asks him to come to the ring, so he does. Ziggler attempts to attack Cena but Cena sends him right back to the floor with a clothesline. WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view opens with Jim Ross and John Bradshaw Layfield joining Michael Cole on commentary. 1) Randy Orton defeated Alberto Del Rio with a huge RKO. Josh Matthews is backstage with Vickie Guerrero who says she has photos to prove that Cena and AJ have had an affair. She invites AJ to come to RAW and defend herself in person. Out comes Paul Heyman who says CM Punk shouldn't have to face Ryback tonight. Vickie says she won't cancel the match because Punk is scared of Ryback. Heyman says Punk ain't afraid of nobody. 2) Damien Sandow & Cody Rhodes defeated WWE Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan & Kane by DQ when the referee DQ'd a crazy Kane. Daniel Bryan and Kane remain title champions and after the match Kane goes mad chokeslamming everyone until he and Bryan argue in the ring. 3) WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz with the Trouble in Paradise to retain his title. 4) WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro defeated Justin Gabriel with the Neutralizer to retain his title. 5) Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara defeated The Prime Time Players when Rey hit the 619 and a big splash on Young for the pinfall. 6) Big Show defeated Sheamus to become the NEW World Heavyweight Champion when he hit the Knockout WMD Punch for the clean victory. Backstage segment involving Vince McMahon when CM Punk appears and the crowd give him a mixed reaction. He wants Vince to cancel his match with Ryback. Vince asks if he is intimated or lacking confidence and Punk says no to both, he's not fearful of Ryback. Vince suggests that Punk proves tonight that he is the best in the world. 7) WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres defeated Layla and Kaitlyn to retain her title. 8) WWE Champion CM Punk defeats Ryback in the Hell in a Cell to retain his title. The finish came when Ryback was going for the Shell Shocked when the referee low blowed him and Punk got the cover for the victory. After the match, Punk and the referee try to leave but the cage is locked. Another referee is having trouble opening it when Ryback recovers and goes crazy on them and beats up on Punk. The ppv finishes with Ryback's foot pinning Punk's chest on top of the Cell.
