WWE: Leaked NXT Clips At Full Sail University

WWE's rebranded NXT has found its way onto the world wide web.

WWE's rebranded NXT has found its way onto the world wide web. A few weeks ago it was reported that WWE had gone to Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida to record a new concept of NXT. This would be a rebranding of the stale, never ending series which saw rookies compete each week on a show and that seemed to have lost all sense of direction. The leaked video, courtesy of YouTube which was captured by a fan in attendance, see's Triple H come out and declare that it is a the beginning of a whole new brand for NXT, emphasizing that NXT is the future of their industry and that NXT is the future of sports entertainment itself. While the video doesn't last the whole speech, it is enough for us to understand what WWE intends to do with the revamped brand. Triple H declares that this is only step one, that with the help of the fans in attendance, the students and the faculty of the University, WWE has big plans for the events that will unfold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHg3359WY48 Going forward the general thoughts of the new NXT's direction is to have up and coming FCW Wrestlers (WWE's development facility) compete alongside NXT Rookies and Superstars from the main roster. Meaning that it will become a stepping stone for up and coming talents to compete and develop their craft, facing more educated wrestlers on their way up. In essence it acts like a bridge to the younger stars who, at the moment go from facing fellow development rookies jumping straight into the big league once they are called upon to the main roster. The idea and model is an excellent one, it gives the young talents a chance to work with more experienced wrestlers on a regular basis, rather than competing against fellow trainees where their learning ability is generally restricted to the limits of both them and their opponent. The idea for the project is believed to be that of Triple H's and he is expected to have full control and input on NXT's development and forward structure. There was also rumors circulating earlier in the year that FCW was due to be shut down. Whether NXT, when fully up and running under its new guise is expected to be WWE's new development territory, which results in the closure of FCW is unknown and only time will tell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmPhH4GrFmQ&feature=related Jim Ross who has also been confirmed for the first taping can be seen in the above video, alongside William Regal and one other personality who is difficult to make out. WWE clearly intend to go in strong for their new brand, utilizing big names and top stars. The video also shows The Ascension, a stable from FCW. While the videos consists of strong, main roster talent, the likeliness for this is to draw in the students and the fans, giving them a taster of what to expect before integrating more of the NXT and FCW rookies. The show was recorded over two weeks ago and at this time WWE is still showing and recording NXT under the old format. The new, remodeled NXT is yet to have its air date announced, but is likely to replace its predecessor at some point on wwe.com.
