WWE: Lita Will Be Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame 2014 [Watch Video]

The latest WWE Hall of Fame 2014 inductee is Lita, it was confirmed on RAW last night. The 38 year old who goes by the real name of Amy Dumas is the third inductee this year behind Ultimate Warrior and Jake Roberts. She will be the seventh Diva to ever be inducted, surely by her close friend and rival Trish Stratus. The four time WWE Women's Champion helped to transform the perception of female wrestling in her 1999 to 2006 career, showcasing a daredevil ring style and equally devilish Punk look. It was all a great contrast from the stereotypical 90's WWE diva style of sexuality and gimmick matches €” Lita alongside Trish Stratus made women's wrestling all about WRESTLING. Under the guidance of WWE trainer Fit Finlay, Lita and Trish pioneered a new athletic style for females in the WWE, eventually ending up in a stunning 2004 Raw main event championship win for Lita. That's how over the divas were at that point, able to main event Raw and engage the crowd with wrestling action. You can watch Lita's induction announcement/reveal video from RAW last night below; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NeGOoyi6fM The event will take place on April 5th in New Orleans, and it will be interesting to see who Lita gives a shout out to given her storied personal history with controversial men such as Matt Hardy, Edge and CM Punk. She did of course find her early fame as part of 'Team Extreme' with the Hardy Boyz, but WWE may be reluctant for her to talk too much about those days. Jeff and Matt Hardy's legal and drug problems have all but obliterated that nostalgic history and neither work for the company currently. Instead Lita's induction will likely focus on her days as a pioneer for the divas, a worthy legacy for the Attitude Era star.
