WWE: Looking At "Road to Wrestlemania Edition" Of NXT

WWE-NXT-Logo Going into this week's NXT with the tagline of "Road to Wrestlemania edition" you are never really certain what you're going to get. However, you might be pleasantly surprised as we received solid action even know there were no developmental stars€ Well except for one to be found. First of all, and they gave the episode a different feel with having not only one Hall of Famer in attendance, but two as Jim Ross and the always incomparable Howard Finkel join the broadcast and raised the level of the show just by being there. Along with Regal and Todd Phillips it was a welcome addition to the week to week monotony. The night began with strong action as a divas title match between Kaitlyn and Natalya showed why ladies wrestling works so well as they brought aggression and intensity usually reserved for the men. It's a shame that Natalya doesn't get more use in the ring. Interesting here that they tied in a Saturday Morning Slam match against AJ in the reason why the Queen of the Dungeon and the Punjabi Princess got her title shot. They should try and do that a little more could cause a little more interest in the "B Level Shows" if they tied in those shows to the main show instead of treating them like they don't exist. Everything in that match look good and showed real improvement from Kaitlyn given that only a few years ago she never wrestled a match in her life. The only problem came at the finish when you can loudly here Kaitlyn call to for a few spots before the spear and the win. retaining her divas championship. We hear comments about the episode of WWE superstars such as Alberto Del Rio unlike a few weeks ago is actually wearing a suit this time, who calls Zeb Colter literally Van Pelt from Jumanji€ Well€ The big game Hunter from the African jungle much like Leo Kruger has to be an NRA member much like the Real American Colter. Along with the Mexican made in America, we hear from John Cena and we play the drinking game how many times he can say the date and Wrestlemania 29 in one promo as he awkwardly talks about announcer Tony Dawson's attire. The Shield comments as well on their six man tag with Big Show, Sheamus and Orton in a good solid promo. For the NXT faithful, there was a storyline in here for you as the former Chris Hero a.k.a. Kassius Ohno attacked William Regal leading to their eventual match sometime next month which should be a wrestling classic. And we learned that next week the NXT title will be on the line as the tag team partner of Dolph at Wrestlemania the NXT champion Big E Langston will face the Ascension Connor O'Brien. The main event was solid as Damien Sandow and Randy Orton did all their basic spots, but you can definitely tell each was trying not to hurt the other with Sandow making sure not to land on his face when he took the RKO. Say what you want about the Viper but those fans loved every minute of it. I was kind of expecting a Shield run in but it didn't happen. As they went off the air with Orton standing strong.
