On Raw this past week, Triple H mentioned a few of his former friends in a promo calling out Kevin Nash (this before he got whacked with a sledgehammer)…. specifically Shawn Michaels and Sean Waltman (when was the last time you heard that name on Raw?).
Vince McMahon is notorious for not hinting at names that aren’t on the active roster without having a plan to bring them back into the fold.
With that in mind, PWInsider.com are reporting that there’s been some talk in the WWE of reuniting D-Generation X with Shawn Michaels and Triple H. The reports comes just a few weeks after HHH and HBK re-formed their famous tag team at a Smackdown taping in Dallas that was only for the live audience and didn’t air on television.
Reforming DX given the current storyline where Hunter has just lost his privileges of running Raw (though he is weirdly still the COO) kind of makes sense, I guess, in a way to combat John Laurinaitis and bring back an old friend to take on Kevin Nash. Plus, they could easily bring in X-Pac/Sean Waltman to the storyline… all were members of the Clique and there’s definitely something that could be done there.
WWE were apparently talking to Michaels about a possible return at the Vengeance PPV last Sunday and Vince McMahon is naturally eager to release new DX merchandise.
Would HBK return to the ring (nobody ever stays retired in wrestling) or would he just be in HHH’s corner?
With The Undertaker, Booker T, Mick Foley and Chris Jericho all expected to be back for a run in to Wrestlemania, once again it sure feels like the WWE is going out of it’s way to live in the past instead of creating new stars.

I disagree w/this part..(it sure feels like the WWE is going out of it’s way to live in the past instead of creating new stars) Both R-Truth(who just last year was treated like an Jtg) and the miz are facing John Cena and The Rock.. Thats something that they can bragg about for years.. And Cm Punk got one of the biggest pushes ever.. Her are some more names that have been getting pushed recently.. Cody Rhodes, Sheamus, Zack Ryder and Alberto Del Rio.. Even Jack Swagger and Dalph Ziggler are kinda getting a push as a team, And it looks as if there trying to do something with Mason Ryan.. But look, What the WWE is trying to do by bringing back people like, The Rock, Chris Jericho, Undertaker, Kane, Kevin Nash, Mick Foley, Booker t and maybe Hbk is to bring back fans of the past.. The ones that watch it when it was worth watching.. Your talking about there not pushing anybody, Who else do you want them to push… Santino???
Nearly all those men you’ve mentioned have suffered from stop/start booking. If they had so many legitimate stars then they wouldn’t have to keep on relying on Orton and Cena to either hold or chase the world title.
Anyway D-X reforming in 2011 is just a horrible idea. It would be entertaining for a few weeks and then the novelty of forty to fifty year old men acting like teenagers would soon wear off.
Don’t forget that the Road Dogg (B.G./Jesse James) was just given a shot as a backstage agent. He was a DX member as half of the New Age Outlaws. Maybe we’ll be hearing “Oh you didn’t know?” again too.
i would love to see Dx again…i am the biggest fan of HHH..but we are also missing shwan michals…(from pakistan)
