WWE Movie News: Dean Ambrose In "12 Rounds 3" On Sept. 11

Dean Ambrose makes his feature film debut this September.

Dean Ambrose stars in a new WWE movie called "12 Rounds 3: Lockdown" that will be released in theaters and on-demand September 11. It's the third movie in the 12 Rounds series. John Cena starred in the original 12 Rounds in 2009 and Randy Orton was the lead in 12 Rounds 2 in 2013. Here's a synopsis of the film from WWE.com:
Ambrose plays Shaw, a detective that returns to active duty after the death of his partner. When he uncovers evidence linking his fellow officers to a murder, they frame him for a homicide he didn€™t commit. Trapped in his own precinct, Shaw will do whatever it takes to expose the dirty cops and clear his name. With twelve rounds in the clip and one shot at redemption, nothing will stand in Shaw€™s way in this action-packed thriller.
Ambrose is the lead character in the film directed by Stephen Reynolds. His co-stars are Daniel Cudmore and Roger Cross. https://twitter.com/WWEStudios/status/618087477652422656 This is the latest action movie released by WWE as part of their deal with Lionsgate with "Vendetta" starring Big Show set for a DVD/Blu-Ray release on August 18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVQswKrYf98 The movie was filmed last summer after Seth Rollins attacked Ambrose with a Curb Stomp onto cinder blocks at ringside that led to Ambrose sitting out for over a month. When he came back, his feud with Rollins picked up although there was no mention of Ambrose filming the movie while he was away. Later in the year, Rollins took out Orton with a vicious attack leading to him filming a WWE movie as well. There's no trailer associated with the film although that should be out soon.
