WWE Network Reveals Latest Subscriber Count

The all important number revealed.

WWE Network has 1,156,000 subscribers. The news was announced as part of WWE's quarter two financial reporting, which resulted in the stock jumping up past 20.00 after closing the previous day at 16.48. The important takeaways from WWE's statement are - Total paid subscribers of 1.156 million, down 13 percent from 1.315 million at the end of Q1-2015. Including trial subscribers, WWE had 1.227 million Network users at the end of the quarter. Over the entire lifespan of the Network, there have been 2 million unique subscribers. The numbers are exactly what was expected. They aren't great, but they're not horrific. WWE will be satisfied and the stock rise shows investors are optimistic. The drop off from WrestleMania was expected and isn't as severe as some had predicted. WWE kept their audience interested by stacking the past few months with fresh content, including an Elimination Chamber special and Brock Lesnar Japan special. The Beast In The East ended up becoming the most watched program (excluding the PPV specials) to date on WWE Network. What's interesting is the two million unique subscriber number over the Network lifespan. It goes to show the potential reach of the Network when at its peak. There's significant growth to be had, although the hopes of having four million subscribers is still some way off.
