WWE New Logo Will Debut After SummerSlam

RAW after SummerSlam will see a permanent switch to the WWE Network logo.

When WWE launched the Network in February there were heavy rumours that it would coincide with a change in their company logo. The current one has been in place for many years, but it makes sense that they would want to change it so that it looked the same as the WWE Network logo. According to a report from PWInsider, the WWE Network logo will be the new WWE logo as of the Raw the night after SummerSlam on August 18 in Las Vegas. The implementation of the new logo means that when the change is official, all WWE titles will feature the new logo. The report notes that WWE recently ordered new plates for all belts so the titles will appear slightly different. What does that mean for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship situation? At this point we don't know. Currently, the WWE WHC is carrying around the WWE Title and the World Title. That version of the WWE Title is new as of February 2013. It has the WWE logo on it. It's been weird seeing guys carrying around two titles when it's really supposed to be one. It's been that way since Randy Orton won both of them at TLC last December, then Daniel Bryan won them at WrestleMania 30 and John Cena won them three weeks ago at Money in the Bank. The WWE Title should be just one championship. Maybe WWE is just waiting until after SummerSlam for the champion, whoever that may be, to carry just the one title. It would be the start of a new era. The rumor is that Brock Lesnar might beat John Cena for the WWE Title at SummerSlam, so perhaps they are waiting for that moment to give that new piece of hardware to Lesnar and have Paul Heyman there to bask in its glory as well. That would make sense. Another reason why WWE kept the two titles around was because they were big merchandise sellers. If you go to a WWE event you always see fans carrying around replica titles, especially of the WWE & World Titles. If those titles become inactive it's unlikely that WWE would sell them at arenas anymore, but a new WWE Title would mean new merchandise and likely a hot seller too.
