WWE Offering BIG Money Contracts To Prevent Wrestlers Leaving For AEW?

Good news for anyone with an expiring WWE contract...

Vince McMahon Money AEW
WWE/AEW

The new wrestling war continues to benefit any wrestler who finds themselves in the position to negotiate a new contract, and the financial boom will escalate even further when WWE's new TV deal kicks in this coming October.

This is according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He writes that WWE Superstars have been told that they'll be getting big salary increases when the deals kick in, which should help the promotion retain disgruntled talent as All Elite Wrestling make waves in what was long considered a monopolised industry.

As Meltzer notes, the wrestling economy has changed. It's no longer a house show and pay-per-view driven business, but a TV rights driven business, and that paying wrestlers based on the old metrics has become an anachronism. This, coupled with the increase in competition, should mean big paydays for lucky wrestlers.

Whether or not FOX TV's reaches will be enough to keep wantaway stars like The Revival around remains to be seen, as while WWE will be able to satisfy their financial needs, scratching their creative itch is another matter entirely, and one they may still consider impossible in WWE.
