WWE Old School RAW: 5 Things We Learned

3. The MidCard Is Still In Disarray

WWE Old School RAW was filled with midcard matches. A tag match that feels like it was forced into the program just to remind us all there is a WWE tag team division (with champions even!), The Miz yucking it up with Ric Flair and nowhere to go, and Ryback beating a title holder. We are still not sure where the midcard talent will end up come the first weekend of April, but WWE needs to get these things sorted out soon, as the upper end of the card is now starting to come together.

2. CM Punk Will Face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania

The main event of the night featured a Fatal Four Way match whose outcome was never in question. CM Punk defeated 3 other superstars for the right to face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. This really feels like WWE is taking the easy way out in order to set up this match, by having it determined via a match outcome stipulation rather than by having a few weeks of buildup through in-ring promos. WWE would have benefited, in the long run, by taking the latter route and allowing CM Punk a few more weeks of pleading his case that he can end The Streak. At any rate, we are sure to have several weeks of that now, it just would have been better if they allowed the confrontation to develop rather than forcing the issue through the main event tonight.
