WWE Optimistic Over Fan Interest In Sting

Internal belief is fan interest is much stronger with Sting's WWE 2K15 appearance than last year's Warrior deal.

Although the contract talks between WWE and Sting seem to be in the same place they were in January when negotiations began, many within the company are optimistic about the reception the eventual signing will receive from fans. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, many within the company feel that there's more interest in Sting's WWE 2K15 announcement than there was regarding the Ultimate Warrior and last year's game. The possibility of Sting wrestling seemed like a contributing factor to that perceived excitement, although many fans where unaware of Warrior's declining physical condition until he finally appeared. While Sting has reached a deal with Mattel and 2K Sports, the contract talks regarding he and the WWE remain stagnant. 2K Sports spared no expense in promoting Sting in the upcoming game, spending nearly $200,000 on the WWE 2K15 trailer in which was featured on Raw weeks ago, according to Dave Meltzer. At 55 years old, Sting is well aware his career is coming to a close, and publicly stated that he's interested in just one more match, namely with The Undertaker, although he said that if the Undertaker's career was indeed over, he'd still want to do a final match in the WWE to close out his career.
