WWE: Ranking Undertaker's 21 WrestleMania Victories Worst To Best

21. Giant Gonzalez, WrestleMania IX

The worst match in Undertaker's legendary undefeated streak came on April 4, 1993 when he defeated Giant Gonzalez at WrestleMania IX in Caesar's Palace. Undertaker had spent three years dominating World Wrestling Entertainment thanks, in large part, to the intimidation his opposition felt every time he stood across the ring from them, but at the 1993 Royal Rumble, he was attacked by a man whose sheer size proved too much for the Phenom. At nearly eight-feet tall, Giant Gonzalez was a monster of a man, extremely lanky, too skinny to really move correctly, who wore a bodysuit featuring spray-painted muscles that made him look more like a circus freak than any legitimate threat to a former WWE champion like Undertaker. Gonzalez was pushed as a dominant force but the fact that he could not perform the most basic of wrestling maneuvers was not lost on the audience. The crowd in Las Vegas did not buy Gonzalez as a competitor and no matter how hard Undertaker tried, he simply could not drag a good match out of the towering Superstar. Worse than the actual match was the finish, which saw Gonzalez work with manager Harvey Whippleman in using chloroform to knock the Phenom out. The plan worked momentarily and led to Undertaker being carted from the ring but moments later, the familiar gong sounded over the PA system and Undertaker staggered and stumbled towards to the ring, the fans in Vegas greeting him with a huge pop. He cleared Gonzalez from the ring but left the proverbial door open for a rematch, which fans were unlucky enough to witness at SummerSlam in August.
