Last night’s WWE RAW results from Philadelphia. It’s the Slammy Awards show and Michael Cole welcomes us to the show, alongside Jerry “The King” Lawler and John Bradshaw Layfield.
1) Rey Mysterio defeated Damien Sandow with the 619 and the splash from the top for the victory. Cody Rhodes and Sin Cara were at ringside.
Booker T comes out to award the first Slammy Award – “Tell Me I Just Did Not See That”. The nominees are Brad Maddox screwing Ryback, Daniel Bryan losing the World Title in 18 seconds to Sheamus at WrestleMania, Kofi Kingston walking on his hands at the Royal Rumble and CM Punk hitting the GTS on The Rock at RAW 1000. Booker goes to name the winner but instead out comes The Boogeyman! making his WWE return. He smashes an alarm clock over his head, dances around and pulls out the worms.
After the commercial, Booker still can’t believe what he has just witnessed. He goes on to announce the winner of the Slammy but Brad Maddox comes out to interrupt… thinking he has won. Instead it is WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston for his feat at the Rumble last January. He thanks the fans for a Slammy dream come true.
2) Kaitlyn defeated WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres in a non-title match.
After the match, Kaitlyn grabs the Divas Title and lays it over Eve then proceeds to mock Eve by posing beside her. K
The New Age Outlaws are out next to perform their intro before awarding the “Comeback of the Year” award. The nominees are Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, DX and Jerry “The King” Lawler. Lawler wins the award and runs up the stage to thank everyone, telling them he loves them and it sure is great to be back.
3) WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston defeated Tensai with the Trouble in Paradise for the non-title victory.
Kofi is celebrating the victory when Wade Barrett attacks him and sends him to the floor, working over him and giving him the Bullhammer elbow.
Vickie Guerrero is out to award the Slammy Award for “Kiss of the Year”. The nominees are AJ Lee kissing Daniel Bryan, AJ kissing Kane, AJ kissing CM Punk and AJ kissing John Cena. Obviously, AJ wins the award… but she wins it for kissing Cena. Guerrero says however that AJ needs to explain her actions at TLC before she can pick-up the award. AJ comes out, snatches the award and says she doesn’t owe anyone anything. She says she has cared a lot about what people have thought of her in the past, including fans, but not anymore. Vickie calls her trash and they argue until Dolph Ziggler comes out and gets in the middle. AJ on John Cena may have been the kiss of the year but that was nothing compared to this… and she jumps on Ziggler and they start kissing. Vickie storms off as the two are still going at it. Dolph sets her down and AJ skips around before heading back.
4) The Great Khali defeated David Otunga with a big chop.
Post-match, Natalya dances with Khali.
“Superstar of the Year” Slammy is next and Ric Flair makes his return to announce the nominees – Sheamus, Big Show, CM Punk and John Cena.
Flair comes out to a big pop and talks about why he loves Philadelphia. He announces that John Cena wins “Superstar of the Year” but Cena comes out to mostly boos. Cena talks about the award and decides to give it to Flair and says it’s great to see him back where he belongs. Cena says this award is for Flair… which brings out WWE Champion CM Punk, who comes down on crutches with Paul Heyman.
Punk says giving Flair the award makes no sense, but it is also atrocious that Cena was voted for by the fans when he has had a horrible year. Punk calls Cena a loser, like Flair and the fans in Philadelphia. Punk says he is obviously “Superstar of the Year” because he has been WWE Champion for 393 days. He’s the man, not Cena and not Punk. Punk starts whooing. Flair responds and calls Heyman Punk’s baggage. Punk insists he could beat Flair and anyone up in Philly with one leg. Flair says let’s handle this and he takes off his jacket as he goes to the ring.
After the break, the two start going at it. Punk goes low with a crutch shot and hits Flair on the back with it. Punk mocks Flair with a strut across the ring but Flair gets up with a thumb to the eye, knocking the WWE Champion down. Flair grabs Heyman and puts him in the Figure Four leglock. Heyman taps and Flair finally lets up. Flair takes the mic and tells Jerry Lawler that he loves him. Flair says they will never get rid of Flair and Lawler. He told Vince McMahon that if he dies, he wants to die right here or with a girl from Philly. The Shield’s theme music plays and out they come through the crowd.
After the commercial, the WWE Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Kane are brawling with The Shield at ringside. They toss Kane into the barrier and go back to Flair in the ring. They go to put Flair through the table with the triple Powerbomb but out comes Ryback and he makes the save. They all brawl… until they get the better of The Shield. Ryback and Team Hell No both shake hands with Flair in the ring as The Nature Boy’s music plays and he starts celebrating and strutting around the ring.
After the break, Flair is backstage thanking Kane and Bryan. Bryan yells “No”, whilst Kane yells “Yes”, Flair “whooo’s” before Ron Simmons appears and they all stop before “Damn!”.
5) Brodus Clay defeated JTG with a big splash.
Santino Marella comes out to award “LOL Moment of the Year”. As he is coming out, Tensai trips behind him and falls on his face. He gets up and has his head bandaged from Kingston’s Trouble in Paradise earlier. Santino tries not to laugh as they are both here to award the Slammy. Santino calls Tensai Albert and mocks him saying in Japanese, Tensai means Fat Albert. The nominees for the Slammy are The Rock, Team Hell No, Randy Orton and Vickie Guerrero.
The Rock wins the Slammy for his Promo on John Cena. As The Rock was not here to accept the award in person, Santino says he accept the award on his before. Daniel Bryan comes out and yells “No” before Kane carries him to the back.
6) Cody Rhodes defeated Sin Cara with the Cross Rhodes. Rey Mysterio and Damien Sandow were at ringside.
Zack Ryder and Layla are out next to award the Slammy for “Trending Now Hashtag of the Year”. The nominees are #feedmemore, #peoplepower, #littlejimmy and #wwwyki. #feedmemore gets the win. Ryder says he’s going to take the award to Ryback in the back.
World Heavyweight Champion Big Show comes to the ring carrying the extra large steel chair he used at TLC. He says he did exactly what he said he was going to do and defeated Sheamus. Show says he will sit down in the ring all night and yells at the fans for chanting boring. Sheamus comes out and says he has no regrets about last night, one of the most physical and painful matches he has ever been in. He says Show was the better man last night and he congratulates him. Shemaus extends his hand, Show shakes. As Sheamus goes to leave, Show tells him to get to the back of the line and calls him names before Sheamus tackles Show and hits him with the XL chair. He then delivers the Brogue Kick.
Shemaus heads to the back but there’s Dolph Ziggler with a referee. He says he is ready to cash in on a knocked out Big Show but before he gets to the ring, John Cena clotheslines him. They brawl and as the bell never rang, Ziggler still hasn’t cashed in.
7) The Miz, Alberto Del Rio & Tommy Dreamer (!) defeated 3MB (Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre)
Sheamus comes out to introduce “Newcomer of the year”. He says like the late Owen Hart used to say, enough is enough and it’s time for a change. He announces the winner is Ryback and the crowd chants “Feed Me More”.
8) Ryback defeated WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro by countout in a non-title match when Cesaro rolled out of the ring.
Gene Okerlund, Ricky Steamboat and Jim Ross are out to present the final Slammy of the night – “Match of the Year”. The nominees are The Undertaker vs. Triple H, Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena, Sheamus vs. Big Show at Hell In a Cell and John Cena vs. The Rock. Back to commercial.
The winning match was The Undertaker vs Triple H and HHH’s music comes out as the crowd chant for Taker. Triple H says their match was magical and what the business is about. A “Thank you hunter” chant starts as he claims he doesn’t think we’ve seen the last of the Deadman.
The Shield are beating down on Tommy Dreamer backstage before scarpering.
9) AJ Lee and Dolph Ziggler vs Vickie Guerrero and John Cena goes to a no-contest when Cena applied the STF on Ziggler but AJ Lee comes with NXT Champion Big E Langston as they beat up Cena. AJ skips around as Langston takes Cena out and Dolph Ziggler looks on surprised as RAW goes off the air.
