WWE Raw Rating Bounces Back With The Return Of The McMahons

The shake-up worked...for now.

Vince McMahon Raw

After months of dwindling ratings for Monday Night Raw, this week's episode finally saw an upturn in audience numbers to WWE's flagship show, as reported by PWInsider.

The return of the McMahon family, in particular Chairman Vince McMahon, saw ratings bounce back from their lowest ever last week, to over 2.5 million viewers this week.

The viewership climbed 16% from the previous week and was the highest since October, drawing 2.547 million viewers as compared to 2.194 million on 10th December.

Not only was there a boost in the overall rating, but Raw managed to retain viewers for the first couple of hours too, with the first hour (which featured the McMahons opening the show) reaching 2.717 million and the second 2.588 million.

Whether WWE can maintain this ratings improvement is a different matter entirely. The third hour lost several hundred thousand viewers, with only 2.367 million watching, although that's still a vast improvement on previous weeks.

Nevertheless, WWE need to make major changes as a part of this proposed shake-up in order to consistently increase their viewership, and allegedly have something major planned for January to get Raw back on track.
