WWE Raw Ratings Fall Despite John Cena's Return, Show Still No. 1 On TV
Tiny ratings declines for John Cena's return as WWE Raw hits notable landmark.
Although WWE Raw's television ratings were technically down for John Cena's much-hyped return this Monday, the episode was still a considerable success, viewership-wise.
As originally reported by Wrestlenomics' Brandon Thurston, a total of 1.951 million average viewers watched Raw's 27 June show across its three hours on USA Network. Hour to hour, this can be broken down as follows:-
Hour one: 2.005 million viewers
Hour two: 2.016 million viewers
Hour three: 1.832 million viewers
That overall viewership figure included 700,000 in the key 18-49 demographic for a rating of 0.54. P2+ viewership was down from the previous week's 1.986 million, while P18-49 dipped slightly from 709,000.
Despite this, Raw still finished number one not only on cable, but broadcast television in general, marking this as another successful week. As pointed out by Thurston, Raw's post-WrestleMania 38 episode was the only other time Raw has accomplished this feat over the past year:-
To be clear, Raw swept the top spots not only on cable but including broadcast as well.
That happened one other time in the last year, which was the night after Wrestlemania.

Last week's Raw numbers were likely buoyed by the increased interest emanating from Vince McMahon stepping down as WWE Chairman and CEO. Although the 76-year-old wasn't advertised for Raw, as was the case with SmackDown, he ended up appearing on the 20 June episode - then again this week.
