WWE SmackDown Spoilers 10/1/12 - Daniel Bryan Retains World Title

WWE SmackDown spoilers from last night's event tapings in Laredo, Texas. The show will air on Friday Night SmackDown on SyFy in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK. Dark Match: Skip Sheffield def. Percy Watson SmackDown results... WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan came out to open the show but was interrupted by Mark Henry. He let us know that he was banned from ringside for tonight's Title match defence of Bryan vs. Big Show but Henry said he wanted to face the winner for the title next week. 1) Justin Gabriel def Heath Slater. The losing streak continues! 2) Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes def. Ezekiel Jackson in what we believe was a non-title match. 3) Ted DiBiase def. Drew McIntyre. Hunico was out doing commentary and talking trash on DiBiase so it looks like a program between the pair is well underway. Expect them two to clash during the Royal Rumble match. McIntyre's loss meant it was a third strike for him and it was played up as if he was fired (but he isn't really). Hunico was out during this match so Hunico vs. DiBiase looks to be a program going forward. This was McIntyre€™s third strike, which doesn€™t mean he€™s fired, but it means they wanted you to think he€™s fired. 4) Sheamus def. Jinder Mahal. Hopefully that is the end of that little feud. 5) David Otunga def. Santino Marella. Which must be the first match Otunga has won in months. 6) Brodus Clay def. Tyson Kidd in a squash match. We have no reports on how much funky the Funkasaurus was tonight. 7) Tamina def. Natalya. Wade Barrett comes to the ring and talks up his chances of winning the Royal Rumble. He also announces that he is booked to fight Sheamus on next week's SmackDown show. 8) World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan vs Big Show in a No DQ, No Count Out main event amazingly went to a No Contest finish, meaning Bryan retains. The finish came when AJ Lee, who came out with Bryan, went down after being accidentally hit by Big Show. She was taken out on a stretcher by medics and the match was called to a halt for this reason.
