WWE SmackDown Spoilers Results (Aug 25)

The Dudleyz enjoy some in-ring action!

This week's Smackdown took place in Providence, Rhode Island and featured the Dudley Boyz first match in WWE in ten years as well as a big night for the Wyatt Family. An interesting note about the pre-Smackdown taping is that Samoa Joe and Finn Balor teamed up to beat Lucha Dragons in the NXT Dusty Rhodes Memorial tag team tournament. Balor and Joe together sounds pretty awesome, so that's something to look forward to on a future edition of NXT. Here are the results from Smackdown. Bray Wyatt along with Luke Harper and Braun Strowman did a promo to start the show. They talked about Strowman being a new member of the Wyatt Family. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose confronted them in the ring, but the Wyatt Family backed away to end the segment. The Ascension did a promo ripping on the Dudley Boyz to set up their match. The Dudley Boyz defeated The Ascension clean with a 3D. Post match, The New Day showed up with anti-Dudley signs. The Dudleys shook them off and put an Ascension member through a table to excite the crowd even more. Kevn Owens did a backstage promo about facing Neville. He said they'll find out what kind of hero Neville is. Owens beat Neville clean with a Popup Powerbomb in a good match. Charlotte and Becky Lynch were confronted by the Bella Twins backstage with no Paige around because she was at Tough Enough finale and so was Alicia Fox. The Bellas tried to turn Charlotte and Becky against Paige, but they didn't want any part of that. Charlotte and Becky beat The Bella Twins in a tag match when Charlotte got the pin. Team B.A.D. were on commentary. WWE and US Champion Seth Rollins did a promo talking about how Raw was supposed to be the greatest night of his life because he was going to get a statue. He said Sting was jealous of him. He claimed that at Night of Champions he's going to finish what Triple H started at WrestleMania and finish Sting at NOC. Dolph Ziggler and Ryback won a tag match over Rusev and Big Show. Since Rusev was a jerk to Show throughout the match, Show knocked out Rusev with a punch when Rusev had Ziggler locked in the Accolade submission. Ziggler ended up putting his arm on top of Rusev to win the match by pinfall. It sounds like a Big Show face turn is coming. Sheamus defeated Dean Ambrose in the main event. Ambrose was about to win when the lights went out and the Wyatt Family surrounded the ring. Their distraction led to Sheamus pinning Ambrose after a Brogue Kick. After the match, Roman Reigns tried to help Ambrose, but was unsuccessful because Strowman beat him up. The show ended with the Wyatt Family looking dominant. Once the tapings were over, Ambrose called out Wyatt. Instead, Seth Rollins attacked and Ambrose nailed his Dirty Deeds DDT to end the show. Typical ending to send the fans home happy. Thanks to PWTorch.com for the results.
