WWE SummerSlam: Brock Lesnar Vs. The Undertaker Is The Main Event

The match was announced during Monday night Raw.

The main event of SummerSlam was announced during Monday night Raw: The Undertaker will face Brock Lesnar on August 23rd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It's a rematch of their memorable encounter at WrestleMania 30 when Lesnar conquered the The Undertaker's undefeated streak. It was an announcement that was expected following Sunday's Battleground main event when Undertaker attacked Lesnar during his WWE Title match against Seth Rollins. Undertaker started Raw, said he was sick of Lesnar (and Paul Heyman) bragging about beating him, so he was going to make them pay. Later in the show, Undertaker stalked Heyman in the ring, which brought out Lesnar. When Lesnar confronted Undertaker, they got into a massive brawl that saw them fight all around the ringside area while security guards, police officers and the majority of the WWE roster were out there to try to break them up. It was one of the most intense brawls on Raw in a very long time and the Raw crowd in Kansas City were really excited to see it. Lesnar had to be cuffed with zip ties as the "cops" took him away. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eivGJZGs2jo The brawl suggests that the match could be a No Holds Barred affair or have some other stipulation. For now, they are both in babyface roles and it's likely to stay that way since Lesnar turned a few months ago, while it would be hard for fans to boo a respect legend like Undertaker. Their match at WrestleMania 30 wasn't that good in terms of quality, partly because The Undertaker suffered a concussion early on, so they will both be motivated to put on a better match this time around. Even though it's not a WWE Title match, it's clearly being positioned as the main event of SummerSlam. WWE has already begun the advertising blitz for the match and you can watch the promotional video that was released below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHLdplWsoE4
