WWE To Counter AEW By Moving NXT To Fox Sports 1?

NXT could go to war with Wednesday Night Dynamite.

While an official announcement hasn't been made yet, it looks very much like All Elite Wrestling will debut their rumoured Wednesday Night Dynamite on the very same week that WWE SmackDown Live moves to Friday nights on Fox this coming October.

As things stand, AEW would run unopposed on network television, but there's now a chance WWE may opt to move NXT's weekly show from the Network to counter them.

Dave Meltzer speculated on the matter during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. As is always the case when Dave speaks on matters like this, the rumour has spread all over the internet and yes, it should be taken with a big pinch of salt, but it makes perfect sense.

WWE have decided to counter this weekend's AEW Fight for the Fallen pay-per-view by streaming an EVOLVE event on the Network, so of course they'd make a move like this. It'd also tie in with the post-Double Or Nothing narrative that suggested NXT, not the main roster, was AEW's true competition, and it'd be extremely interesting to see how All Elite's new show would fare against WWE's acclaimed developmental brand.
