Talk of WWE potentially introducing Women's Tag Team Championships has cycled in and out of the wrestling rumour mill throughout 2018, with the speculation returning in a major way over the past few days.

The company have dropped several big hints on WWE.com. First, an article on "controversial decisions" Paige could make as SmackDown GM had the new division listed first, then the company dropped a new photo gallery highlighted "WWE's most dominant female duos."

Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella have also posted similar teases on Twitter, and on top of all this, the company have put extra effort into promoting Lynch and Asuka vs. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce for tonight's episode of SmackDown.

Given the increasing volume of female talent at their disposal and the division's renewed focus in 2018, it makes sense that WWE would be thinking about women's tag titles, even if the brand split decreases their practicality. The roster is stacked, but split across two shows, leaving Raw and SmackDown with only a couple of potential teams outwith the singles title hunt.

Still, WWE don't tend to drop such hints unless something's in the works, and while it's all speculation at this point, don't be surprised to see the belts before long.
