WWE: Vince McMahon "Badly Shaken Up" By The Ultimate Warrior's Death

Vince McMahon was "badly shaken up" by the news of Ultimate Warrior's death, leading to Triple H taking charge of the situation as news broke during Tuesday's Smackdown tapings. The report comes via Figure Four Daily Radio, stating that it was Hunter who ended up going out and telling everybody about the tragic news. This is indicative of Hunter's bigger role over the entirety of WrestleMania week, he and Stephanie were far more hands on than usual as Vince McMahon withdrew somewhat. In saying that, all big decisions are still running through Vince. The prominence of Hunter and Stephanie this week could be seen as the sign of things to come. Triple H is telling people not to call him Hunter any more, he is now going by Paul for all business in relation to his role of Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events. More than ever it looks as if he will the heir of WWE's top job. He did in fact end up in this role at the end of WrestleMania 30 when Vince McMahon left the show to go to hospital with The Undertaker. The news of McMahon being badly shaken up by Warrior's passing is a reminder of his own mortality. At 68 years of his age the Chairman is taking steps back and passing more responsibility to daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Hunter. Increasing questions are being asked about his succession or a potential sale of the WWE. Despite this, there is thought to be no clear plan in place, with questions remaining over whether Stephanie and Hunter would be appropriate for the role.
