WWE Women's Royal Rumble 2020: How Every Elimination Happened

Creativity is everything.

Charlotte Flair

WWE played it safe in the women's Royal Rumble.

Charlotte Flair is so status quo it'll probably annoy some fans, but she's now earmarked for a big spot at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa. Critics will point to the mighty performances of both Bianca Belair and Shayna Baszler in the match, then tut-tut as they argue one of those women should've won instead.

WWE disagreed; though they were willing to give the NXT stars some spotlight (both looked like absolute monsters in the Rumble, eliminating eight superstars each), the company weren't ready to book a surprise, career-enhancing win. Again, they decided to go the easy route and bank on Flair's star power being enough.

There were loads of thrills and spills along the way. The 2020 women's Rumble was a vast improvement over last year's disjointed, almost-disappointing effort, and creative got well...creative with some of the eliminations too. This guide has you covered by running down each elimination in order and explaining how each woman was thrown out of the match.

Temporary alliances, temporarily broken ones, comedy spots and more await in this whistle stop tour of the women's melee...
