WWE WrestleMania 33 Coming To Minneapolis?

2017's biggest wrestling event coming to the new $1.1 billion NFL Vikings stadium?

WWE were quick to email us tonight with an official statement on the news;
Minneapolis is one of the many cities that has expressed an interest in hosting a future WrestleMania. Beyond WrestleMania in Dallas, TX on April 3, 2016, locations for future WrestleMania€™s have not been announced.
ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS... Lester Bagley, who is VP of Public Affairs and Stadium Development for Minneapolis' new $1.1 billion U.S. Bank Stadium for the NFL's Vikings, claimed this week that WrestleMania is coming to the venue. There have been a lot of rumours about WrestleMania 33's location in 2017 and now Minneapolis, Minnesota must jump straight to the top of the potentials list. The stadium is expected to open for the 2016 football season. Bagley said this week;
€œBefore the building is even open we have already secured the Super Bowl in 2018, the NCAA basketball Final Four in 2019, we are a finalist and seem to be in a pretty good position to secure the college football playoffs, the BCS championship game, you know we€™ve got WrestleMania coming.€
While it's not confirmed that it will be WrestleMania 33, that's what is most likely. If you're wondering, the stadium will have a roof on it, so even though Minnesota is one of the coldest places in the United States, it will be comfortable in the stadium. What's also interesting about the rumour is that former WWE executive Patrick Talty is working as the stadium's General Manager, so he likely has a lot of connections with people working at WWE. This past Monday's edition of Raw took place in Minneapolis and Brock Lesnar received a huge ovation from the crowd because he has spent a lot of his life there. It's a market that has a rich wrestling history but has never hosted the event, so WrestleMania 33 in 2017 sounds like a perfect opportunity to put that right. There's no word from WWE on the matter likely because they don't want to make any announcements yet.
