8 New Directions For WWE Champion Triple H

It's time to play the game. Again...

So, WWE actually did it. They pulled the trigger on Triple H, catapulting the Game to his 14th World Title reign (and second Royal Rumble victory, an astounding fourteen years after the first). An eventual WrestleMania showdown with a certain Mr. Reigns seems to be on the horizon - but what's in store for the Cerebral Assassin until then? Initially, it may seem as though WWE have telegraphed their next few months of programming. Triple H and Roman Reigns are sure to sling barbs at one another, hinting at a climactic confrontation on the grandest stage of all. However, there's no shortage of other opponents for the King of Kings to face - either in the run-up to 'Mania, or at the event itself (if WWE do a major U-turn and again take Roman away from the title scene for fear of a fan backlash). This year's Royal Rumble match was notable not only for Triple H's victory, but the fact that it made several lesser names look strong in the process. Wrestlers such as Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, and the debuting AJ Styles were allowed to make quite an impression upon the match, potentially thrusting themselves into the title picture in the process.
