2. Avengers: Doomsday

The build to Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame was essentially a decade in the making, and was the kind of lightning in a bottle that no film franchise will ever be able to replicate. Not even Marvel Studios.

It's no secret that the quality has dipped in the Multiverse Saga, with the whole wider universe losing much of the interconnectivity on which it was built. Doomsday was never going to enjoy the same kind of build, particularly as not too long before it was an entirely different movie, but it is still an Avengers film.

There would always have been excitement for Avengers 5, whether it was The Kang Dynasty led by Kang the Conqueror, or Doomsday led by Doctor Doom. The jury is still out on the decision to bring Robert Downey Jr. back as Doom, but even in the worst-case scenario, he is a wonderful actor with a strong passion and respect for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There is also the fact that Avengers veterans like Thor, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), and Shuri will be joined by the likes of the Thunderbolts, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four among others (including the return of Steve Rogers). As long as this doesn't devolve into a glorified cameo-fest, this could be one of the movies of the year.
